Mike Hopper joined Bloomberg Associates in February 2015. Mike provides Sports consulting services at Bloomberg Associates, helping mayors and city leaders to develop and leverage relationships with leagues, teams, governing bodies, athletes and sports-related brands.
Prior to his role with Bloomberg Associates, he directed New York City’s Sports Marketing department, a division of the city’s marketing and tourism bureau, where he was responsible for organizing New York City’s winning bids for the 2013 Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game, Super Bowl XLVIII and the 2015 National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game. In addition, he was instrumental in creating new events and competitions that served to bring together local youth from diverse demographic backgrounds to aid social cohesion across the city. Previously, he spent six years at City Hall in New York City, serving as the Director of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Advance team.
Mike has held senior positions with the New York Yankees and Teneo Consulting, where he specialized in strategic partnerships, sports marketing, event planning and management, brand development, and marketing and communications strategies.
