Bloomberg’s giving and works to ensure better, longer lives for the greatest number of people. Bloomberg Associates takes a strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented approach to make cities stronger, safer, more equitable, and efficient. The team of experts has worked with cities across the globe on hundreds of projects in order to ignite change and to translate dynamic visions into real impact for residents.

July 2023 Bratislava
The largest city and capital of Slovakia, Bratislava serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of the country. The mayor has ambitious goals to combat climate change, redesign and utilize public spaces and Bratislava’s brownfields, and to create new cycling routes. The talented team at city hall is focused on efficiencies within government and transparency for all its residents.
June 2022 Phoenix
When Mayor Kate Gallego took office in 2019, Phoenix was already a city seeing large growth in many sectors. With no signs of slowing down, Mayor Gallego’s administration partnered with Bloomberg Associates to identify initiatives and strategies to help Phoenix mitigate adverse impacts on its climate and built environment – including alternative transportation, green infrastructure, housing, and habitat restoration.
March 2022 Tampa
Working with Mayor Jane Castor and her administration, Bloomberg Associates engaged with the City of Tampa to help the city capitalize on its recent growth while remaining intentional and committed to community engagement and providing quality services. The team is assisting the administration on projects spanning from small business support to parks development.
February 2020 Chicago

January 2020 Lima
Bloomberg Associates partnered with the City of Lima to support the mayor’s administration during a trying time for the city and country. With particular focus on Lima’s more vulnerable populations and underserved communities, our programs were critical as the city navigated the devastating impact of COVID-19.
July 2019 Newark
Mayor Ras Baraka and the Bloomberg Associates team began working together to achieve the Mayor’s ambitious goals set out in his Newark Forward blueprint, focused on equitable growth, job creation, community engagement and transparency. The team is working to bring the public and private sectors together to accomplish these goals.
September 2018 Atlanta
We provided strategic support to Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and an ambitious slate of objectives: creating a new Department of Transportation, improving communications with residents, addressing the city’s affordable housing needs, and forming a high-profile task force to repurpose the city jail.
January 2018 Milan
To achieve Mayor Beppe Sala’s vision of Milan as an open and welcoming metropolis, our teams joined forces with the city to create or reclaim over 67,000 square feet of public space, accelerate the city’s tree-planting efforts, and create a new agency to promote Milan to visitors and businesses.
July 2017 Houston
Bloomberg Associates teamed up with the City of Houston and Mayor Sylvester Turner to streamline operations, enhance workforce development programs, and build stronger communities. To revitalize under-resourced neighborhoods, we developed a strategy with community partners and long-time residents.
March 2017 Nashville
The City of Nashville and Bloomberg Associates began working together on some of the complicated challenges the growing city was facing: ensuring access to quality education, small business support, improving air quality, and addressing equity gaps caused by the rapid development of the city.
February 2017 Paris
Bloomberg Associates partnered with Mayor Anne Hidalgo to further her vision for a greener and inclusive city. The teams have taken on projects to support vulnerable communities, champion and enhance Paris’ digital programs, reduce the heat island effect, and drive targeted city tourism promotions.
April 2016 Bogotá
To impact the everyday lives of Bogotá residents, Bloomberg Associates and Mayor Enrique Peñalosa made a number of quality-of-life improvements, including installing a large-scale upgrade of lighting in 1,100 city parks, reducing wait time at major hospitals, and redesigning a neglected riverfront.
December 2015 Detroit
We first began working with the City of Detroit and Mayor Mike Duggan on two complex projects: mapping the largest Land Bank in the U.S. and redesigning key intersections and corridors across the city. Our scope of engagement grew to 26 projects that drew upon all of Bloomberg Associates’ expertise.
August 2015 Oakland
Bloomberg Associates worked with the City of Oakland and Mayor Libby Schaaf to develop a new transit plan, create the city’s first long-term economic development strategy, launch new digital tools, and create a plan to reduce Oakland’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
June 2015 Athens
Bloomberg Associates advised Athens and Mayor Giorgos Kaminis on a number of critical challenges: improving the delivery of social services, promoting modern arts and culture, developing tourism, revitalizing the commercial sector, and cultivating partnerships between the public and private sectors.
March 2015 Rio de Janeiro
Working with the City of Rio de Janeiro and Mayor Eduardo Paes, we helped transform public space and streets, improve digital communications, encourage collaboration across cultural institutions, and make doing business easier and more transparent.
September 2014 London
Initially, we supported efforts to modernize London through expanded tech sector engagement and helping create a strategic vision for the redevelopment of a mixed-use project on the site of the 2012 Olympic Games, East Bank. Our focus then expanded into housing, homelessness, and small business support.
August 2014 Kansas City
Bloomberg Associates partnered with Kansas City and Mayor Sylvester “Sly” James to help grow the local media and entertainment industry, enhance the city’s digital future, promote arts and culture, and foster inter-agency communications.
April 2014 Los Angeles
To advance Mayor Eric Garcetti’s “Back to Basics” agenda, we focused on improving transit, creating a sustainability strategy, enhancing culture opportunities citywide, and growing the city’s reputation as a top destination for creatives and businesses.
January 2014 Mexico City
To transform the image of Mexico City as a cosmopolitan capital, we worked with Mayor Miguel Mancera on high-profile initiatives for road safety, the revitalization of public space, the launch of new strategies for the city’s homeless population, and how to make internal processes more efficient.
