Alexia Nazarian

Alexia Nazarian advises clients on projects that drive economic growth, support vibrant neighborhoods and commercial districts, and encourage economic mobility. Driven by data analysis with an eye toward implementation, her work spans small business and neighborhood development, workforce development, sector-based business attraction and retention, and public sector procurement.

Alexia previously served as Senior Project Manager at Empire State Development, where she structured and negotiated over $15 million of State discretionary incentives to accelerate business expansion, retention, and attraction projects across New York City’s five boroughs. Alexia also worked at HR&A Advisors as a summer fellow, where she analyzed demographic, market, and real estate trends for public and private sector clients. She started her career as a paralegal at a boutique zoning and land use law firm, where she drafted rezoning and other land use actions in fast-growing neighborhoods including Hudson Yards and the Williamsburg waterfront.

A first-generation multilingual Armenian-American, Alexia holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and Master of Public Administration from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, where she was a writing tutor, research assistant, and received the President’s Service Award. She is an active member of Open New York, a pro-housing advocacy organization.
