Athens
Going outside the box to reinvigorate an ancient city
Caught in the throes of the Grexit crisis and one of the worst recessions in the country’s history, Athens had almost no resources to deliver core services — much less to invest in new and modern initiatives. The city turned to the private sector to help shoulder the load using a newly created, open, and transparent fiscal vehicle to establish new partnerships and secure investment for critical social programs.
